Organizing a Charity Golf is one of the events for PERKOBP to raise Building Fund for the construction of its new centre at Kg. Tengah.

The number of golfers was targetted at 120. Initial response was lukewarm with only a few participants but towards the closing date, the response could be described as overhelming. The final count was 123 and we regretted we had to turn away those late comers.

Though it was raining the whole morning on the golfing day, the participants' enthusiam was not the least dampened. They kept coming in and all were hopeful that by the kick-off time, the rain would have stoped.

True enough, when every golfer had taken their buffet breakfast provided, the weather became clear and sunny when it was time for the first tee-off.

Prizes were plenty. Each golfer was given a goodies bag to start with. The Hole-In-One was a Sentral Lavina sponsored by Tan Cheong Motors.

There was a buffet dinner for the golfers in the evening. Food was aplenty but the exciting event was the prize winning and lucky draws. As the gifts were more than the diners, so the lucky draw went a second round after each golfer had his present.

The Charity Golf event came to a happy close with the golfer tired but satisfied with supporting a good cause for the welfare of persons with learning difficulties.

Our sincere thanks to those who participated in our Charity Golf. We are also very grateful to those who donated generously towards our Building Fund.

P K Chan Handover of Building Fund

Tuesday, 6 July 2010

P K Chan, a staunt support of PERKOBP, has once again came forward to raise fund for the Society when he heard the Society was building its own centre at Kg. Tengah and need to raise RM1 million for this first phase building.

In conjunction with his participation in the 'KL International Marathon' held on 27 June 2010, he managed to raise a total sum of RM11, 530.75 for PERKOBP. This fund was handover to Peter Phang, president of PERKOBP on 6 July 2010 at P K Chan's office at Batu Caves.

We are very grateful to P K Chan and all those donors who had given so generously.
