Donation from Pizza Hut

Wednesday, 10 February 2010

We are very grateful that Pizza Hut, Kota Damansara, in conjunction with the launching of their "Hot on Wheels" campaign, had generously given us a donation. They had invited five NGOs to witness this happy ceremony.

A bus was provided to bring all our trainees and staff to the popular fast food outlet. They were given goody bags and a box of pizza.

There was a troop of acrobat artists to entertain the audience.

We returned to the centre at half-past noon to have lunch and then resume with work.

Signing of Grant Contract

Thursday, 18 February 2010

PERKOBP is very grateful to the Government of Japan for extending a very huge financial aid to our Building Project.

This grant was given under its Grant Assistance for Grassroots Human Security Projects Scheme, for “the Project for Construction of Building for Persons with Learning Difficulties.” The grant contract between the Embassy of Japan and PERKOBP was signed on 18th February 2010.

Our Society needs to raise RM1 million for the construction and furnishing of our own 2-storey building at Kg. Tengah, adjacent to Putra Heights in Selangor. The GAGP grant received through our Japan Embassy comes in timely and is of huge help to us. We hope the general public and corporations would be as generous in helping us to fulfil our dream of having our own premises so that we can better serve persons with learning difficulties.

Datuk Jimmy Lim - 2010 Open House

Sunday, 28 February 2010

We are grateful to Datuk Jimmy Lim, our generous sponsor and supporter, for inviting our trainees, staff and volunteers to his open house at D' Villa, Jalan Ampang, on Chap Goh Mei.

There were 27 trainees and 11 staff and volunteers attended the event. We arrived at D' Villa before 6.00pm and were treated with mandarin oranges and drink. Datuk Jimmy Lim also came out to greet everyone.

The exciting time was when the lion dance started. The three lions gave a very interesting performance, at one time interacting with our trainees and thrilling all of them! There was also the 24-period drum performance which was high entertaining.

After the lion dance and the drum performance, we were treated to a buffet dinner on the roof top. There was plenty of food around: roast lamb, char kuay teow, curry mee, satay, roti canai, and many more.

While dining, Datuk Jimmy Lim came to give ang pao to the trainees, bringing much joy to all of them.

After the dinner, all the guests were treated to a brilliant show of fire work, drawing an end to this wonderful and enjoyable night.
