Ang Pao Giving by Mr. Ng
Monday, 04 February 2008

Mr. Ng Yoke Choy, a businessman who read about our Society in Sin Chew Daily was quite touched by the positive attitude of our trainees. He came to visit our Sheltered Workshop and familiarized with the various activities at the centre. After that, Mr. Ng distributed ang pao and mandarin orange to our trainees and staff. He also made a donation to the Society.

We were very grateful to his kind gesture and support. He brought much joy to everyone especially Chinese New Year was just 3 days away.

Through the arrangement of MCA 6.5 Mile Jalan Puchong Branch, all our trainees,10 staff and volunteers participated in the CNY Angpao Giving ceremony at Bangsar, KL. Our bus left at 2.15pm. Canopies were set up next to Bangsar Village accommodating 430 senior citizens and OKU.

There were many food stall set up to cater for a variety of appetite. You could have chicken rice, yong taufu, Penang fried kuey teow, popia, kangkong and cutterfish, etc. While we were having our meal, there were singers and performances to entertain and bring out an atmosphere of CNY celebration.

Of course, the highlight of the even was the arrival of our patron YB Dato' Sri Shahrizat, Minister of Women, Family and Community Development. Our trainees mingled with Dato' Sri very well and liked her company.

It was a very enjoyable outing for our trainees. Each trainee was given an angpao and a hamper, to the delight and excitement of everyone.

We would also like to record our gratitude to Public Bank who sponsored this event.
